When it comes to our demise, nobody knows what fate has in store and when the time will come for us to pass over. Of course, we all hope to live to a ripe old age but this does not always happen. Many people fall victim to illnesses or accidents that lead to a premature death. Often, this leaves their loved ones in a very difficult situation because no preparations were made and no Will was created.

If you want to ensure that your assets and possessions go to the people of your choice in the event of your death, creating a Will is vital. When you create a Will you can name beneficiaries and decide who gets what. You then have the reassurance that when you die your wishes will be carried out as per your Will. If you die and there is no Will, the decision will be out of your hands and will be passed over to the Rules of Intestacy. This means that leaving assets to charities, non-married partners, pets, or friends will not be possible, as the Rules of Intestacy usually focus on biological children, civil and married partners.
